Accepted Manuscripts
- Accepted Manuscripts are peer-reviewed research papers that have been accepted for publication by the Editor of an ASME Transactions journal and posted online in a citable form in advance of the copyedited version of record.
- Publication of Accepted Manuscripts is part of ASME’s commitment to provide the latest scientific research as soon as possible online. The service is aimed at benefiting authors, readers, and researchers, by decoupling the availability of the research from the production requirements of archival publication.
- Accepted Manuscripts are a modified version of the pre-production, author-supplied PDFs of an accepted paper.
- After an Accepted Manuscript is posted online, it will proceed through the usual copyediting, author review, and production process. The author-approved archival version of the paper will replace the Accepted Manuscript version upon publication in an issue of the journal. The original posting date and DOI of the Accepted Manuscript will carry over to the archival version to maintain the paper’s online identity for citations.
- Accepted Manuscripts are citable using their Digital Object Identifier (DOI).
