Scope
IET Electric Power Applications publishes papers of a high technical standard with a suitable balance of practice and theory. The scope covers a wide range of applications and apparatus in the power field. In addition to papers focussing on the design and development of electrical equipment, papers relying on analysis are also sought, provided that the arguments are conveyed succinctly and the conclusions are clear. The scope of the journal includes the following:
- The design and analysis of motors and generators of all sizes
- Rotating electrical machines
- Linear machines
- Actuators
- Power transformers
- Railway traction
- Variable speed drives
- Electrically powered vehicles
- Industrial and non-industrial applications and processes
Forthcoming Special Issue
IET Electric Power Applications is currently seeking contributions for a themed special issue on the topic of Electrical Machines and Drives in the More Electric Aircraft, to be Guest Edited by Prof. Barrie Mecrow (Newcastle University, UK), Prof. Phil Mellor (Bristol University, UK) and Dr John Cullen (Rolls Royce). Please forward any queries to the IET Electric Power Applications Editorial Assistant, Joanna Lawrie.

Citing this Journal
IET Electric Power Applications is usually cited by the abbreviated title 'IET Electr. Power Appl.'. Every article in this journal is assigned a Crossref DOI, which is displayed on the article abstract page.
Previous Title
IET Electric Power Applications was previously published as IEE Proceedings Electric Power Applications. Following the merger on March 31st 2006 between the IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers) and the IIE (The Institution of Incorporated Engineers) to form the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the IEE Proceedings suite of journals changed name at the beginning of 2007 to reflect the fact that they were now published by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. IET Electric Power Applications starts from Volume 1, Issue 1 from January 2007 onwards. All other benefits of publishing in the journal, including IEE Proceedings Electric Power Applications Impact Factor Credentials and worldwide readership and database coverage, remain unchanged.
Online subscribers to IET Electric Power Applications can also access all backfile issues of IEE Proceedings Electric Power Applications from 1994-2006 as part of their current online subscription.
