(a) ABS plastic spherical Elekta calibration phantom consisting of two hemispheres, central plate, and two Lucite pegs holding hemispheres together. (b) Phantom setup for the calibration at the LGK 4C. (c) Phantom setup for the calibration at the LGK PFX by using phantom adaptor.
Dependence of corrected charge reading deviation to mean corrected charge reading for all 13 phantoms on the measured phantom diameter (a) and mass density (b). No correlation is observed between measured phantom diameter and corrected charge reading deviation to mean for both LGK 4C and LGK PFX (correlation coefficients of 0.09 and 0.05 for LGK 4C and LGK PFX, respectively). Similarly, no correlation is observed between measured phantom mass density and corrected charge reading deviation to mean for both LGK 4C and LGK PFX (correlation coefficients of −0.10 and −0.03 for LGK 4C and LGK PFX, respectively).
Comparison of basic physical properties of ABS with other phantom materials: Water, PMMA, polystyrene, solid water (WT1), and water equivalent RW-3 material. The table is adapted from Ref. 3.
Mean measured phantom diameter, mean measured phantom mass density, and mean corrected charge readings in 13 phantoms tested on LGK PFX and LGK 4C. Also given are percentage deviations for each phantom from the mean of 13 phantom readings for each of LGK PFX and LGK 4C units.
