Schematic illustration of a magnetic point contact with a confined domain wall. To a magnetic thin film located in the xy-plane, an in-plane magnetic field was applied in the x-direction. The magnetic configuration of the point contact is shown in the inset. The magnetic moment at the top end of the point contact is pinned to the direction opposite to the applied magnetic field. Electrons flow from top to bottom.
The oscillation frequency of the y-component of the magnetic moment, , under the point contact in the magnetic thin film is plotted against the polarized current density . It shows two plateaus at low and high values, i.e., from to and from to . From to , the frequency depends strongly on and takes the maximum value of 147 GHz at . The labels A, B, and C indicate the points corresponding to the three different spin-wave modes as explained in Fig. 3.
