10.B. B. Snavely and A. V. Buettner (private communication) have measured triplet‐triplet absorption for rhodamine B in polymethyl methacrylate and find the peak at 6225 Å. Although a population buildup in the lowest triplet level would be unimportant for the laser‐pumped case, a significant accumulation may occur during flashlamp pumping, thus leading to an additional loss at the wavelength(s) appropriate to methanol solutions and pursuant modification of the gain curve in Fig. 1(b).
