5.Within the linear small signal approximation, the dispersion relations for generally directed magneto‐elastic waves propagating in an arbitrarily magnetized cubic ferromagnet have been given by A. Platzker in his S.M. Thesis (February 1967) available as Microwave and Quantum Magnetics Group Technical Report No. 12, January 1967, MIT, Cambridge, Mass. This treatment also includes the effects of dilational magnetostriction, but does not give explicit expressions for the magneto‐elastic wave splitting.
