6.Observation of a double‐spaced structure of oxygen on (111) nickel was incorrectly attributed (ref 2) to Germer, Schiebner, and Hartman (ref 7). They reported a chemisorbed oxygen structure with surface lattice spacings five times greater than those of clean (111) nickel.
