Instability and regenerative pulsation phenomena in Fabry‐Perot nonlinear optic media devices

4.V. N. Lugovot [Opt. Acta 24, 743 (1977)] speaks of regenerative pulsation phenomena with driven Fabry‐Perot devices containing a Raman or Mandelstam‐Brillouin active medium, with the mirrors reflective at both the external beam and first Stokes emission frequencies. According to that author, Ref. 4 shows that the hysteresis discussed in Ref. 4 is qualitatively different from that of Ref. 1. I do not disagree, because stimulated Stokes emission is occurring with the cavity providing feedback.
