16.These secondaries are generated by slow positive ions in the neutralizer cell which accelerate through the decel (blocking neutralizer cell electrons). These positive ions bombard the accel electrode at typically 1 keV energy, thus releasing some electrons from the surface. Some of these electrons travel down the accel gap into the source plasma and contribute to the drain.
