4.The enhancement of the electron temperature by the biased grids was demonstrated in a different experiment through the observation of plasma radiation at the upper hybrid frequency when a constant ohmic heating current is passed in the plasma. For example, increasing the negative bias from to enhances the radiation and consequently the electron temperature by 50 percent.
