Generation of 10-THz transients from a subpicosecond optical pulse and a 1-THz field in quantum wells
1.J. Feldman, T. Meier, G. von Plessen, M. Koch, E. O. Göbel, P. Thomas, G. Bacher, C. Hartmann, H. Schweizer, W. Schäfer, and H. Nickel, Phys. Rev. Lett. 70, 3027 (1993). The parameters obtained from this work are with the free-electron mass, meV, ps, h/Γ=400 fs, Å, eV. These parameters are used in all calculations.
2.Second- and third-harmonic generation connected with intersubband resonances in a doped QW have been demonstrated in J. N. Heyman, K. Craig, B. Galdrikian, M. S. Sherwin, K. Campman, P. F. Hopkins, S. Fafard, and A. C. Gossard, Phys. Rev. Lett. 72, 2183 (1994). This is an entirely different mechanism from the one under discussion.
