2.Strictly speaking, the original paper by Burton, Cabrera, and Frank suggests that island nucleation is not the dominant process under near-equilibrium conditions in real systems. However, the process dominates in the case of MBE because the supersaturation ratio is much higher than in their case.

19.At a temperature low enough to suppress the Ga desorption, the time to the completion for the monolayer growth is identical to the time needed to supply an atomic layer of Ga atoms. Therefore, the Ga arrival rate is the inverse of the growth rate.
