Schematic of the device. The main part is the central transformer, modified by an inner dc-SQUID of small inductance; the coordinates are the magnetic fluxes and . A signal flux is applied on the left side and the response is read out by the SQUID on the right side. The control on the transmitted flux is achieved by coupling a flux to the inner dc-SQUID.
