Measured relative intensity of the light reflected from the prism vs the ordinary effective refractive index of the incident light for the KTA waveguide formed by 3.0 MeV ion implantation at dose of . Sections (a), (b), and (c) represent the effective refractive profile for , , and of the KTA crystal separately. The values 1.9045, 1.8140 and 1.8080 are the refractive index of virgin KTA crystal.
(Color online). Natural logarithm of the scattered intensity of light vs propagation distance along the KTA waveguides formed by 3.0 MeV ion implantation at dose of . (a) As implanted sample; (b) after annealing at 230 °C for 30 minutes. The straight line was the fitted line of the scattered intensity of light, and the measured wavelength was 633 nm.
(Color online). Magnified field pattern of the KTA waveguide mode which was collected (a) by screen, (b) by CCD camera. The waveguide was formed by 3.0 MeV ion implantation at dose of at room temperature.
The nuclear energy loss and the electronic energy loss as a function of the penetration depth of 3.0 MeV ions in KTA crystal which were simulated by TRIM’98.
