Series of -polarized micro-UPS results measured for CuPc films of different thicknesses denoted on the right side. Two peaks labeled by and were observed for the 0.1 ML film. As the thickness increased, the peak shifted to higher BE and merged with the peak of the 0.9 ML film. Micro-UPS for CuPc films of 1.0, 1.5, and 100 ML thicknesses measured with - (filled circles) and - (open circles) polarized lights. The peaks labeled by , , and arose from molecules in the first layer, the second layer, and multilayer, respectively. The polarization dependence indicates that molecules are lying flat in the first layer, slightly tilted in the second layer, and largely tilted in multilayer.
