7.Footnote: We were unable to reproduce the results recently reported for the dye, Sudanschwarz B,4 regarding mode selection and passive Q‐switch operation. Power transmission measurements showed an increase in absorption at high power levels (). The bleaching characteristics of a number of other dyes also have been measured and will be reported subsequently.
