(Color online) Schematic energy diagram to explain the tailoring of TE gain narrowing spectra in a tunneling injection InP QD laser with the external optical feedback. Due to the external feedback, the peak wavelength of the TE-polarized stimulated emission from the InP QD plus InGaP QW transition shifts from the wavelength in a free-running QD laser to the wavelength in an external-cavity QD laser.
