Normalized spectra of bare ZnO nanowires and nanowires embedded in PMMA. Two main features are visible: the deep-level emission (DLE) and the near band-edge emission (NBE). The DLE intensity of the embedded nanowires is strongly decreased. For a more detailed view of the NBE region (see Fig. 2).
