Conceptual scheme of the beam combination system using SBS-PCMs. The main beam is first divided into several sub-beams by the amplitude division using polarizing beam splitters, then, amplified separately in the array amplifier system, and finally recombined. In each amplification stage, the SBS isolator system can completely cut off the leaked back reflection. (FR, Faraday rotator; AMP, amplifier; QWP, quarter wave plate; PBS, polarizing beam splitter).
