Experimental setup for observing amplification of the probe signal in the forward direction by pump laser through stimulated Raman effect, where a wavelength-tunable cw diode laser and mode-lock fiber laser were employed for the probe and pump lights, respectively. PD denotes photodetector, BS denotes beam splitter, BF denotes band pass filter, MCP denotes mechanical chopper, and LIA denotes lock-in-amplifier.
