The upper and lower half parts of each PDOS show the up and down spin states, respectively. The lattice parameter of is that of fcc Co and the lattice parameter of is that of the Co–Cu alloy. The lattice expansion narrows the bandwidth, resulting in the enhanced magnetic moment of the Co–Cu alloy.
