15.The maximum time interval considered in the random-walk analysis was 10 s. This value was chosen because it was sufficient to characterize the transition period and the long-term region of the postural control system (as determined from a pilot study involving larger data sets, e.g., 240 s COP time series), and the inclusion of longer time intervals in the present analyses may have introduced spurious or unreliable results, given that we only considered 90 s COP time series.
