Measurement of B versus H of Alumel from 25 to 180 °C

3.American Institute of Physics Handbook, 3rd ed., edited by Dwight Gray (McGraw‐Hill, New York, 1974), pp. 9–28, and some other references have shortened the name of the Ettingshausen‐Nernst (EN) effect to the Nernst effect. We have used the full name for the effect, as has J. P. Jan in Solid State Physics [edited by F. Seitz and D. Turnbull (Academic, New York, 1957), Vol. 5, p. 1] because we believe this to be the more historically correct name and distinguishes the EN effect from the galvanomagnetic Nernst effect.
