Photograph of the HTS-based split coil transverse magnet. Electrical connections to the magnet leads, as well as control wiring, are located on the top plate. The experimental probe, which includes an outside vacuum jacket, an annular gas flow region for temperature control, and the isolated sample chamber, inserts into the center of the magnet from the top.
