The undistorted cholesteric phase and the employed system of axes: the fixed laboratory frame (LF), the position-dependent director frame (DF), and the molecular frame (MF). The -axis of DF is aligned to the local director probed by the molecule at the coordinate from the origin of LF. The set of Euler angles specifies the orientation of MF with respect to DF.
