Abstract

We present a critical analysis of the thermodynamic description of fermion gases concerning its compatibility with the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry recommended definition of the absolute electrode potential. The approximations enabling to separate the molecular problem of a half reaction out of the interfacial problem are discussed.
