Elliott Lieb elected as a Foreign Member of the Royal Society
The Journal of Mathematical Physics would like to congratulate Professor Elliott Lieb on being elected as a Foreign Member of the Royal Society. JMP recently published a special issue dedicated to Prof. Lieb in honor of his 80th birthday.
The Journal of Mathematical Physics would like to congratulate Michio Jimbo of Rikkyo University and Tetsuji Miwa of Kyoto University on being this year's recipients of the Dannie Heineman Prize for Mathematical Physics.
The Journal of Mathematical Physics welcomes a new Associate Editor, Jan Philip Solovej
The Journal of Mathematical Physics is pleased to announce that Jan Philip Solovej has taken up duties as a new Associate Editor on January 1, 2013. He is a professor at the Institute for Mathematical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen and also serves as the chairman of the Danish Research Council for Natural Science. His research interests include many-body quantum mechanics and spectral theory. Prof. Solovej joins an already remarkable team of Associate Editors and his expertise will benefit the authors and readers of JMP.
CrossMark implemented on AIP journals
AIP Publishing is dedicated to scientific accuracy and integrity and as a result has implemented CrossMark on its publications. As of December 2012, a CrossMark logo will appear on an HTML page or PDF file indicating that the publisher is maintaining the published document through any updates, corrections, enhancements, retractions, and other such changes. Clicking the CrossMark logo reveals status information about the document and tells readers whether they are accessing the most recent and reliable version or not. A link to any updated version will be included. You can learn more about CrossMark from the CrossRef website.
Congratulations to Tobias Ried!
The Journal of Mathematical Physics would like to congratulate Tobias Ried, winner of the iPad® drawing at the recent ICMP12 conference held in Aalborg, Denmark. Tobias obtained his Bachelors in Science in physics at the Technical University (TU) in Munich, Germany. Currently, he is enrolled in the Masters in Science course "Theoretical and mathematical physics" at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) and TU in Munich, funded by the Elite Network of Bavaria. His research interest is mathematical quantum mechanics in particular random Schrödinger operators, and by next year will be working on his thesis advised by Dr. Simone Warzel. After achieving his Master’s degree, Tobias plans to pursue his Ph.D.
The Journal of Mathematical Physics welcomes a new Associate Editor, Yasuyuki Kawahigashi
The Editor is happy to announce that Prof. Yasuyuki Kawahigashi will take up duties as a new Associate Editor on September 1, 2012. He is a Professor in the department of Mathematical Sciences at The University of Tokyo in Japan. Prof. Kawahigashi studies the theory of operator algebras and during his editorship will focus on representation theory and algebraic methods of mathematical physics. Prof. Kawahigashi joins a very impressive team of Associate Editors and his expertise will complement their backgrounds in order to further benefit the authors and readers of JMP.
