The figure shows contour plots of the imaginary part of the complex potential Eq. (37) for the magnetic field, with . Such plots give streamlines of the magnetic field (Ref. 3). The plot on the left is equivalent to a combination of a vertical field and that produced by a current through , with a field strength such that at the bottom of the plasma vacuum surface. The plot on the right is obtained from by a conformal transformation, writing and calculating plots of in the -plane. is obtained from Eq. (1) with and that gives . For the plots the domain of and were rotated by substituting with and , respectively, so that the -point is seen at the bottom of the figure.
