4.In reality, the differentiation of the input pulse 1 through the RC grid coupling temporarily changes the operating characteristic of and as a result the intersection point P may be displaced; this, however, has no importance for the analysis of the peak value of the signal.
5.We have used a neon bulb instead of a diode because of the difficulty of obtaining good cathode isolation (the cathode would have to be connected to point A) without excessively raising the capacitive load of the point itself.
