23.There is an exception for those clusters which are very close to the detector at the time of illumination (collinear alignment). The detection probability for these clusters increases with decreasing distance from the detector. This is because their daughter fragments do not have time to travel a sufficiently large transverse distance to be excluded from the detector entrance. (see Ref. 19 for details).
