A schematic of the external parts of the CXRS/BES diagnostic at Alcator C-Mod. A multichannel optical splitter transmits the BES part of the spectrum and reflects the CXRS part. Two spectrometers and two CCD cameras are set up to resolve the CXRS and BES spectra from all 40 channels.
Photograph of the optical splitter assembly. Three high-throughput Nikkor 85 mm f/1.8 lenses and an Andover dichroic filter are used to spatially separate the BES and CXRS emissions.
Three simulated BES spectra distributed along a single row of the BES detector.
Example of the simulated BES spectrum for one of the poloidal channels .
