New York Times: The US Department of Energy chose three wind-power projects—located in New Jersey, Oregon, and Virginia—to receive up to $47 million each. The winning projects were chosen from a group of seven demonstration projects that had each previously received $4 million in 2012. All three projects should be operational by 2017. The goal of Fishermen's Energy in New Jersey is five 5-MW turbines near Atlantic City. In Oregon, Principle Power plans five 6-MW turbines in Coos Bay. And Dominion Virginia Power plans two 6-MW turbines offshore of Virginia Beach.
