Angular distributions and correlations in auger cascades of atomic argon following excitation
- Conference date: 23-27 Aug 1999

We have measured the angular distributions of the resonant Auger and the second-step Auger electrons ejected in the processes and respectively, and the angular correlations between these two electrons. Based on these results, we discuss a key role of the lifetime interference effect in the angular distribution of the second-step Auger electrons and the extraction of the Auger amplitudes from the experimental data. The experimental results are compared with the multi-configuration Dirac-Fock calculations.
