Atomic effects seen in solid phases
- Conference date: 23-27 Aug 1999
- Location: Chicago, Illinois (USA)
The importance of atomic effects in solids is demonstrated by the multiple inner-shell excitations, the threshold dynamics of Auger lines, the multiplet and lifetime effects in inner-shell absorption and photoelectron spectra and the dichroism in inner-shell photoelectron spectra. The comparison of the solid state spectra with the corresponding spectra of the free atoms is emphasized.
