In a previous work , the authors obtained simple analytical approximate formulas for the broadening βc and shift δc coefficients in case of Lennard‐Jones potential. The obtained formulas are based on the broadening and phase shifts ± ηob and ± ηoδ respectively. The correct signs of these phases are obtained and defined. When these phases are applied with their correct signs in the approximate formulas, the broadening βc and shift δc coefficients for some interactions of ( Th, Hg, Cd, Zn, Ar and Ne ) with inert gases and self interactions are in agreement with the corresponding values obtained numerically by other authors. The limit at which the shift changes its sign is also obtained . It depends on the ratio (ΔC12/ ΔC6). New impact parameters which are not known up to now have been discussed and obtained.
