FE Simulation of Effective Distributed Binder Force Trajectories on Stamping Performance

The effect of variable distributed binder force control on the stamping performance of non‐axisymmetric part was evaluated using commercial finite element (FE) code LS‐DYNA. Distributed binder force control was performed in FE simulation of square‐cup deep‐drawing process by introducing a segment binder with 108 segments. To obtain effective binder force trajectories for the binder segments, a binder force process control algorithm based on fuzzy inference method was presented and applied in the simulation. From the implementation of the simulation for several material models with linear hardening plasticity, the possibility of improvement in forming height was demonstrated.
