This paper estimates neutron and photon fluxes at various locations around the Nuclear Electric Propulsion Space Test Program (NEPSTP) spacecraft. Payload radiation dose estimates are also made. Key calculations include the effect of components located outside of the shielded solid angle on neutron and photon dose rates, the neutron and photon dose rates at various locations near the edge of the shielded solid angle, and the neutron and photon dose rates at the payload. A detailed three‐dimensional model is used in the calculations. All significant sources of radiation are taken into account in payload dose rate estimates. These sources include radiation resulting from the fission process, radiation from fission product decay, and radiation from NaK activation.
