of (100), (110) and (111) orientations were grown by the LPE technique from
fluxes at growth temperatures (TG) between 744 to 884°C. The compositions of the films were between
. The growth component (KuG) of the induced anisotropy for the (100) oriented films varied from negative to positive as TG decreased. For the (111) and (110) films KuG was positive and varied slightly with TG. The K u G for the (100) films for a constant TG increased in magnitude with Eu content. The KuG cannot be explained entirely by the prevalent models. It is postulated that the KuG has a component dependent upon the Pb content of the film.
