A Mach‐Zehner interferometer (MZI) illuminated with a He‐Ne laser of 632.8 nm wavelength is suggested for measuring the refractive index for the binary gas mixture Ar‐Kr. The measurements are carried out at different pressures and temperatures. The experimental results of the refractive index are compared with the results estimated using different mixing rules. Calculations of some electrical properties such as the optical permittivity, dielectric susceptibility and the specific refractivity are carried out using our estimated values of the refractive index. The molecular radii of the gases under investigation in addition to the transport coefficients (diffusion, viscosity and thermal conductivity) have also been computed.
