Analyzing powers for (p,d) reactions on 208Pb and 142,144Nd exciting neutron‐hole states

Vector analyzing powers A(θ) and cross sections σ(θ) have been measured for (p,d) reactions on 208 Pb and 142,144Nd by the use of a polarized proton beam of 22.0 MeV and a magnetic spectrograph. Excitations of neutron‐hole states of p1/2, p3/2, f5/2, f7/2, h9/2 and i13/2 have been observed in the 208Pb(p↘,d)207 Pb (N=125) reaction, those of f7/2 and p3/2 in the 144Nd(p↘,d)143Nd (N=83) reaction and those of d3/2, s1/2 and h11/2 in the 142Nd(p↘,d)141Nd (N=81) reaction.
