Most of Micro‐Mechanical product new applications are disposable polymer parts. The increasing of environmental concerns and the unsustainability of petrochemical resources are going to promote the employment of biopolymers in the near future. A new approach to experimentation in Micro‐Injection Moulding (MIM) is presented in this paper, where a special modular mould has been designed and manufactured to be employed in the characterization of biopolymers injected into micro‐geometries. As a result, important interactions between injection parameters and geometrical ratios in micro‐geometry have been addressed, demonstrating that not only the usual injection parameters analysis is needed in order to get success in biopolymers MIM, but micro‐geometry features also have to be considered.
