Synthesis, Structural and Thermal Properties of Ferroelectric Ceramics

Polycrystalline ceramic samples of Ca‐doped fresnoite compounds of formula 0.4, 0.8 & 1.0) have been prepared by conventional solid state reaction method at high temperatures using high purity oxides and carbonates. The formation of the single phase compounds and their structural parameters as well as morphological studies were investigated by X‐ray diffraction followed by Rietveld refinement and scanning electron microscopic techniques. The interatomic distances between the atoms for all the compounds were also calculated. The Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimetry (MDSC) has been used to investigate the effect of substitution on the heat capacity, heat flow and other thermal parameters of the compounds. The results are discussed in detail.
