Enthused by the availability of recent spectroscopy data, we have applied the projected shell model with the deformed single-particle states generated by the standard Nilsson potential to study the positive-parity bands of odd-proton isotopes and analyzed, in particular, the back-bending in moment of inertia in these nuclei. The known experimental data of the yrast bands and back-bending in these nuclei are satisfactorily reproduced. Moreover, the energy levels up to the spin of 59/2+ are obtained in the present calculations, though the experimental data is available only up to the maximum spin of 33/2+.
