The relativistic deuteron wave function in the light front dynamics depends on the relative momentum q↘ and on an additional variable, a unit vector n↘. Because of that it is determined by six components instead of two in the non‐relativistic case. These components are calculated in the one‐boson‐exchange model. One of them, having relativistic origin, dominates at q≥500 MeV/c even over S and D waves. The corresponding deuteron electromagnetic form factors are presented.
