Raman results have been used in a systematic study of one collaret obtained by the electric arc discharge method and splitted into several parts. In studying several spots for each part, we can put in evidence a significant inhomogeneity. Indeed, the diameter distribution of the nanotubes can change drastically from one spot to the other which can be followed with the low frequency bands intensity. This could signify that the tube diameter depends on the location in the synthesis chamber. For comparison, we will present also studies of samples obtained by other methods of synthesis: laser ablation and solar energy. Information about the production process and the influence of some synthesis parameters will be presented.
