The design of a harmonic percussion ensemble (L)
Views of a harmonic bell, gong and key manufactured from sheet metal. “A” indicates a nylon supporting bracket, “B” indicates the stiffening ring welded to the bell wall in 9 locations, “C” shows a gong dimple, and “D” shows the key suspension point.
FFT spectra recorded 200ms after onset for the harmonic bell, gong, and key shown in Fig. 1 using a hamming window of 4096 samples at 44.1 kHz sample rate. The microphone was 1 m and approximately 45° from the normal of the principle radiating surface (normal to axis of symmetry of the bell).
