A two scaled numerical method for global analysis of high dimensional nonlinear systems
The chosen region is defined by , . (a) Basins of attraction in point scale with 400 × 400 points, where stars mark the positions of attractors. (b) Basins of attraction in cell scale with 50 × 50 cells, where cells in green stand for boundary cells. (c) The self-cyclic cell sets cover the areas of the unstable invariant sets. (d) Basins of attraction in point scale with chaotic saddles in basins of attraction and on basin boundaries.
(a) Phase diagram with projection on subspace to show the invariant sets found by the present method with 4 attractors and 2 saddle-type and 1 full unstable invariant sets. (b) The basins of attraction of corresponding attractors, the magenta × shows the initial points on the stable manifold of in-phase oscillation.
