Hysteretic behavior in metallic granular matter
Various packings made of metallic grains have been electrically characterized. Electrical breakdown is observed in I–V curves. A well defined critical point separates the insulating and the condu...

Photoinduced photoluminescence intensity enhancement in poly(p-phenylene vinylene) films
We report measurements of photoluminescence (PL) intensity enhancement in poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV) films induced by light irradiation in the presence of air. This effect is dependent on laser ...

We study experimentally and numerically a novel three-dimensional magnetic resonator structure with high isotropy. It is formed by crossed split-ring resonators and has a response independent of the illumination direction in a specific plane. The utilization of such elements to build a finite left-handed medium is discussed. ©2002 American Institute of Physics.
