Optimization of nano-magneto-optic sensitivity using dual dielectric layer enhancement
We discuss maximization of the sensitivity of magneto-optical detection of single nanomagnets. We show that a combination of optimized dielectric coating on the magnets with an antireflection coated s...

Oscillation of giant tunneling magnetoresistance with respect to tunneling barrier thickness in fully epitaxial Fe/MgO/Fe magnetic tunnel junctions
The authors fabricated fully epitaxial Fe(001)/MgO(001)/Fe(001) magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) with various MgO thicknesses (tMgO) and investigated spin-dependent transport properties. Both the tunn...

The magnetoresistance (MR) of Co/multilayer graphene/Co spin valve structures has been studied. A positive MR of up to 0.39% at 2  K with switching at magnetic fields that are consistent with the magnetization orientations inferred from anisotropic MR data obtained for the Co contacts has been observed. The positive MR decreases with increasing excitation current and eventually changes sign. The positive MR decreases with increasing temperature, but the negative MR has no temperature dependence. ©2007 American Institute of Physics
