Well-balanced basis sets for second-order Møller–Plesset treatment of argon-aromatic molecule complexes
Efficient ab initio method for studies of van der Waals complexes of argon and aromatic molecules is presented. It is based on the supermolecular second-order Møller–Plesset (MP2) perturba...

We report differential scattering experiments on the laser excitation of Na + M collision pairs with M = N2, CO, C2H2, and CO2. The collision event is probed by the laser polarization revealing geometric and electronic properties of the collision pair. The experimental data are compared to the results of a Monte Carlo trajectory simulation using ab initio quantum chemical data.©2004 American Institute of Physics.
